Licensing requirements of nuclear flasks and packages require assessment of impact and thermal performance under the Normal Conditions of Transport (NCT) and Hypothetical Accident Conditions (HAC) as defined in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Regulations. EASL has experience in the application of advanced analysis tools to assess the behaviour of radioactive packages. EASL engineers have supported a number of package safety cases by demonstrating safe containment under normal transport and extreme conditions generated by accident events, including impact and fire.
